This game quickly one of my all time faves. I bought it a few days before the official release but I started playing for real after release day. (I tried the character creation in early access).
I love how there's so much to explore and so many ways to play it, and it's really fun if you're a DnD nerd on top of that.
My first campaign I started off with a tiefling rogue, it was really fun to play the rogue class and I love how tieflings look in this game (the claws and pointy teeth, chef's kiss!).
They're non-binary and I named them Char (after a Crystal Castle song, I think it sounds cool as a name haha). I ofc romanced the flirty vampire twink, Astarion. He's just such a good character, and the voice actor did such an amazing job.
I'm so attached to my first character that I started to make them a backstory and stuff. I also have a few writing wips about them. I made two younger siblings for them as well, one sister and one brother. I haven't decided on their names yet (I think? I don't remember) but I did make them in character creation!
I've also started writing an au with my first character and my third one (he's a tiefling bard) where they have a bit of rivals to lovers thing while also being friends with benefits (or maybe I should say rivals with benefits? haha), but they also have the hots for the vampire, it's a mess (they end up a throuple thought so a happy ending).
My second character is a half elf monk, she's a good bean and try to make good decisions, compared to my bard and rogue who's a bit more chaotic nuetral. She's romancing Shadowheart, the edgy emo cleric.
As a character I haven't really fleshed her out much, so we'll see if do at all.
Now, I also have a campaign with my friend! We're both playing tieflings because we're queer and tieflings belong to us.
My tiefling is a wild magic sorcerer and their tiefling is a bard. So far, we decided that they're childhood friends.
I've been playing DDO with some friends for a few weeks now, it's really fun.
It's an older game which shows in the graphics but that's not necessarily a bad thing, a lot of people have been playing it for years and are still playing it to this day and the devs keeps updating it.
I still don't get all of the mechanics in the game but my friend is there to help out which is nice.
I named my character after the song Blood // Water by Grandson. It took me a while to come up with a name because the first name of your character has to be unique, like a username. You can't use a name that someone else has, which is a bit frustrating.
I just went through my playlist for like an hour to find a song title or a band name to use, haha.
